From the Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC
Election Greetings from the Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC
The Coalition of Child Care Advocates of BC is proud to be a strong provincial partner in the Canadian child care advocacy movement. Along with other provincial partners, our deep commitment to the Child Care Advocacy Association of Canada and Code Blue remains as strong as ever.
Together from coast to coast to coast, we are determined to do whatever is necessary to make child care a significant issue during the election. Our hope is that by the time Canadians go to the polls on October 14th, every candidate in every riding across our country will know that child care advocates are a force to be reckoned with.
This election, like no other, may determine in very fundamental ways the kind of Canada that is our future. Will we elect a government that values programs for children, women and families? Will we elect a government that shows compassion for our citizens, that supports every Canadian, even those with smaller voices? Will we elect a government that is committed to finally act as true leaders and roll up their sleeves to build the child care system we know Canadians want?
At the heart of this election are the values we hold dear as Canadians. That's why it's vital for all of us, every ordinary Canadian, to speak up and let our voices be heard.
During this election we must use every blog, every email, every Facebook page, every telephone conversation, every radio program, every TV opportunity, every community paper to tell our stories. Let Canada know how the policies of the Conservative Party have failed. Let people know about long waiting lists, fees so expensive that ordinary Canadians cannot afford them and spaces that just aren't there. Let everyone YOU know hear our message, that children are still waiting, parents are still waiting – all of us are still waiting for child care.
From now until Oct. 14th, our website will be the place to find election tools, information and ideas, so check it regularly.
And – most importantly, in this election make sure everyone you know votes for child care because –
Canada still needs child care.
