CHANGES TO SENIOR MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCED
CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI — Several changes to the senior management in the provincial government were announced today.
Edison Shea is retiring from his position as Deputy
Attorney General effective February 27, 2010. He will be replaced by
Shauna Sullivan Curley. Replacing Ms. Sullivan Curley as Deputy
Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development is Dr. Alexander
(Sandy) MacDonald.
“I want to thank Edison for his years of service to the
province. His steady administration of the Office of the Attorney
General has been greatly appreciated by Islanders over the years. I
also want to wish Shauna well in her new position and welcome Dr.
MacDonald to the senior management team,” Premier Robert Ghiz said.
Additionally, Linda Lowther has been appointed to the position
of Assistant Deputy Minister of Education and Early Childhood
Development.
Biography:
Dr. Alexander (Sandy) MacDonald is an
educator and administrator with more than 25 years experience in the
field. Dr. MacDonald has a PhD in Counseling Psychology from McGill
University and a Masters in Educational Psychology from the University
of Alberta. He also has three Bachelor degrees, two of which were
earned at the University of Prince Edward Island. For the past number
of years, Dr. MacDonald has served as the Superintendent of Schools for
the Eastern School District. Prior to that, Dr. MacDonald was the
Director of Educational Services and Programs at Holland College and
the Executive Director of the Academic and Learning Innovations Unit at
the same institution.
