At the end of October, I launched this updated site with the plan that I would create posts on a very regular basis. Fast forward two months and I find myself looking at a lot of days having passed by and very few new posts created. So, as the clock ticks toward 2012 I am wondering what it is going to take to ensure I commit to writing posts on a consistent basis. What is it that will work?
- Discipline?
- Commitment?
- Focus?
- Time?
- Systems?
Truly, there are so many stories in my head to be told. So much to share. So many thoughts on so many things; yet I seem to get sidetracked by many other things in life. Projects. Work. Family. Commitments. The list is never ending; yet if you were to ask me if I am passionate about blogging I would say “100% yes”. Honestly, it is a key part of who I am – or perhaps of who I want to be.
I am always amazed, even jealous, of those folks that I admire who are able to create content on a very regular basis…who don’t let it get lost because a million other things get in their way. They are consistent, focused and disciplined. They make sure their voice gets out and is read and heard by others.
This is what I want to do. Actually, I want this more than anything. So…is the answer simply that I need to do it? To commit to it? To really make it happen? Perhaps, but how can I make sure I don’t get sidetracked by life? This is my biggest struggle. I honestly believe that I if I can overcome this challenge it will be one of the biggest gifts that I can myself in 2012.
