Such simple words. Yet, not so simple.
How often do you tell yourself not to give up?
To keep going. To stay focused on the end game.
In many ways, not giving up is seen as a badge of honour. Leaning in when the going gets tough can be an important strategy to help you get through the hardest of moments.
Yet, there are also times when things are just too hard, too difficult, and perhaps even overwhelming. In those moments, sometimes the desire to give up and walk away is very strong. This is natural. And everyone experiences it. Accept this for what it is. And don’t overthink it.
Sure it’s important to be resilient, to be committed, and to even be dedicated for the long-haul. Recognize that, it’s equally important to understand that on some days and in some moments it is virtually impossible not to want to make the decision to give up. Always trust your gut. And your heart, especially when it’s working in connection with your brain.
You know when to hang on and when to walk away. And most importantly—when to reach out and ask for help.
