The 2008 Walk the Talk Survey has just opened. Below is some info from the website. Consider taking the survey or nominating an employer.
Why is walking the talk important? Because talent is king and people are the key driver behind the success (or failure) of most companies. People-related challenges are consistently ranked in the top 5 list on the CEO’s outlook for the next five years. Why? Because it is becoming harder to find the good ones, and even harder to keep them!
As a company who walks the talk you embody the qualities of a great company where people want to work. As defined by employees. If you walk the talk, you will improve your success rate in:
1. Finding superstars
2. Inspiring superstars
3. Keeping superstarsSupportive: career development, family friendly, work life balance practices
Open: transparent, open-door policy, forward thinking, open to new ideas and practices, innovative
Inclusive: fair, equitable, diverse, gender neutral, people-oriented
The survey process is online and anonymous. The online survey takes about 5 minutes to complete. Employees also have the option to nominate their employer directly through an online nomination form.
The 2008 Top Employers Who ‘Walk the Talk’ will be announced at the ‘Walk the Talk’ Top Employer forum, the event to attend to hear what employees want, which Canadian employers are delivering on it and how.
The 2008 Awarded Employers Who ‘Walk the Talk’ will be announced at the ‘Walk the Talk’ Interactive forum. This is the event to attend to hear what employees want, which Canadian employers are delivering and where innovation is happening in the world of work. The Survey is open until September 19, 2008.
