Rob suggested that I give twitter a whirl…which I am now doing.  Not 100% sure about it, though I had lots of glitches to begin with.  In any case, I will give it a good run and see if it is as helpful as I have now heard and read about.  You can see my twitter commentary here on my blog in the box on the right.
